APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute a 1-year blanket purchase
order with Syar Industries Incorporated in the amount of $200,000.00 for materials to
maintain road and flood control facilities, as recommended by the Public Works Director,
Countywide.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The cost of $200,000 is budgeted in FY2009/2010 - 100% Local Road funds.
BACKGROUND:
The Public Works Department uses rock slope protection for county road and flood control
creek maintenance duties Countywide. The coming storm season is expected to be heavier
than normal, so efforts are being made to prepare for greater material requirements for
possible repairs. There is no requirement to spend the allocated amount during the year.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Various projects will be delayed or not completed.
