HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 10062009 - C.44RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee, to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP #1112) for telephone based and in-person interpreter and document translation services in an amount not to exceed $600,000 for the period April 1, 2010 through March 31, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: $600,000: Administrative Overhead (20% County, 40% State, 40% Federal) BACKGROUND: State and Federal regulations governing the administration and implementation of Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) Programs require that interpreter and translation services are available to meet the needs of non-English speaking clients. Contra Costa County has a diverse population whose primary language is other than English. These languages include Korean, Laotian, Tagalog, Russian, Farsi, Afghani, Vietnamese, Spanish, and others.
