Subject:Amendment with The Williams Group, Inc for Workforce Investment Act (WIA) Out-of-School Youth
Services
and Referral, and Foster Youth Case Management Services.
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
This contract amendment adds ARRA youth funds for the implementation of the 2009
Summer Youth Employment Program (SYEP). The ARRA funds were awarded in late
April 2009 for a SYEP start date of May 1, 2009. The Williams Group, Inc. contract is
being extended through September 30, 2009 to accommodate the May 1, 2009 through
September 30, 2009 ARRA SYEP period, as defined and required by ARRA. We are also
extending the contract term and adding WIA formula youth funds for the provision of
regular WIA formula youth program services to out-of-school youth in North Richmond.
The amendment will allow the WDB and its North Richmond Empowerment Center
partners to continue program design and service enhancement planning. This amendment
adds ARRA youth funds to provide summer youth employment program services to 100
out-of-school youth and adds WIA formula youth funds to continue regular, year-round
services to 45 out-of-school youth in North Richmond. (#18-154-3)
