APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Director of Child Support Services, or designee to
execute a contract with Maximus, Inc in an amount not to exceed $750,040.85 for Early
Intervention Delinquency Prevention pilot program for the period of October 1, 2009 to
September 30, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This project will be fully funded by allocations from the Federal (66%) and State (34%).
BACKGROUND:
The State Department of Child Support Services has identified early intervention efforts as a
priority to increasing statewide collections. DCSS has identified a deliquency prevention
pilot program that is available through Maximus Corporation. The program involves
establishing continuous communication with the child support obligor to ensure that prompt
payments are made. Cases will be monitored more closely and resources will be offered to
assist obligors in fulfilling their financial obligations.

CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
If this action were not approved, it would lessen the ability for DCSS to increase collections
through early intervention efforts, as the current staffing levels do not allow for this level of
service to be provided.
