HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09222009 - C.43RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to enter into a contract with the Contra Costa County Housing Authority, including mutual indemnification, to pay the County for law enforcement services in an amount not to exceed $345,100 for the period April 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% Contra Costa County Housing Authority with U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds for the Project Pride Program. BACKGROUND: The Office of the Sheriff will provide two full time deputies who will be assigned to the Las Deltas and Bayo Vista Public Housing Developments for the purpose of eliminating drug-related activities, violent crimes and other related unlawful acts. Deputies will become an integral part of the housing development communities and provide residents with an increased sense of police awareness and trust and specifically interact with the youth.
