HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 09222009 - C.40RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Position Resolution No. 20719 to add one Eligibility Work Supervisors, four Social Workers, four Clerks - Senior Level, and eight Social Service Program Assistants in the Workforce Services Bureau of the Employment and Human Services Department, as recommended by the Human Resources Director. FISCAL IMPACT: Increased annual cost of $1,498,310 is 100% County General Fund. This increased cost will be absorbed by the Department of Employment and Human Services through reductions in services and supplies, increased salary savings, and other cost savings efforts currently in process. BACKGROUND: The demand for General Assistance (GA) services continues to increase. These positions are necessary to meet the current increase and expected rise in the number of applicants requesting GA and to mitigate the period of time between the initial application and the granting or denial of GA benefits.
