Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee, to execute on behalf of
the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-338-12 with American Red Cross Blood
Services, a Non-Profit Corporation, effective May 1, 2009, to amend Contract #26-338-10
(as amended by Contract Amendment Agreement #26-338-11), to increase the total
payment limit by $75,000 from $800,000 to a new total payment limit of $875,000, with no
change in the original term of January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2009.
FISCAL IMPACT:
100% funded by Enterprise I Funds. Cost to the County depends upon utilization. As
appropriate, patients and/or third-party payors will be billed for services.
BACKGROUND:
On January 8, 2008, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #26-338-10 (as amended
by Contract Amendment Agreement #26-338-11) with American Red Cross Blood Services,
for the period from January 1, 2008 through December 31, 2009, to provide total blood and
blood component
