HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08252009 - C.91RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE the payment service agreement between the Treasurer-Tax Collector’s Office and Metavante Corporation for the processing of online payments, and AUTHORIZE the Treasurer-Tax Collector, or designee, to sign the agreement. FISCAL IMPACT: There will be no cost for the implementation of the services nor are there any scheduled ongoing or recurring costs to the County for using the services. The vendor will receive convenience fees from users of the system (taxpayers). BACKGROUND: A few years ago the Treasurer Tax Collector began using a payment gateway vendor which allowed taxpayers to pay their property taxes using a credit card. The payment gateway provided taxpayers with an additional way to pay their property tax. Metavante Corporation is a firm that specializes in payment technology solutions. They offer a greater number of online payment options, such as e-checks, than the current County vendor. In addition, their convenience fees are less expensive.
