APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to enter into contracts with
agencies listed below, including mutual indemnification, to reimburse the County for
forensic services for the period July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2011:
City of Antioch, City of Brentwood, City of Concord, Town of Danville, City of El Cerrito,
City of Hercules, City of Lafayette, City of Orinda, City of Pittsburg, City of Richmond,
City of San Pablo, City of San Ramon, City of Walnut Creek, City of Vallejo, Bay Area
Rapid Transit District, City of Clayton, City of Kensington, City of Martinez, Town of
Moraga, City of Oakland, City of Oakley, City of Pinole, City of Pleasant Hill, the East Bay
Regional Park District, the Contra Costa Community College District, California Highway
Patrol, and Contra Costa District Attorney's Office.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Contracts will allow for full cost recovery of providing forensic services to user agencies
beginning in fiscal year 2010/11.

Subject:Forensic Services
BACKGROUND:
The Office of the Sheriff’s Forensic Laboratory will continue to provide forensic services
for evidence retrieved at crime scenes, a crime scene expert to provide technical advice for
processing complex evidence issues, and witness and expert testimony for services rendered
for contracting agencies. The Board of Supervisors approved a revision of the Forensic
Services User Fee schedule, which implements a full-cost recovery model beginning in
fiscal year 2010/11.
