APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the County Probation Officer to apply for and accept the
Office Of Justice Programs, Drug Court Discretionary Grant in an amount not to exceed
$200,000 to enhance and strengthen the Contra Costa County Adult Felony Drug Court for
the period July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$200,000; $100,000 in fiscal year 2009/10 and $100,000 in fiscal year 2010/11. 25% match
required. The Probation Department will meet the match requirement by allocating
budgeted local resources to the program from within the department's operational budget.

BACKGROUND:
The Office of Justice Programs is providing the Drug Court Discretionary Grant to enhance
adult drug court efforts through intensive probation supervision of felony drug offenders.
The grant will support a full-time Deputy Probation Officer who will provided specialized
supervision of adult felony drug offenders, and serve as Court Officer to the Felony
Alternative Drug Sentencing (FADS) program, operated by the Contra Costa County Adult
