goal of the program resulting in increased opportunities for self sufficiency for the targeted
senior population.
With the changing County demographics of the baby boomer generation retirement, it is
anticipated that programs, including education and technical expertise will be essential in
meeting the increased needs of older workers as they find themselves unprepared for a
retirement that may last thirty (30) years and beyond the customary retirement age.
Statistics indicate that employment keeps individuals connected to their community and is a
major contributing factor in ensuring better overall health and self esteem. The Workforce
Development Board (WDB) continues to seek opportunities to expand services to this
population. (#29-265-2)
