BACKGROUND:
During the 2006 negotiations with IAFF, Local 1230, new language was added to Section
17.5 of the Memorandum of Understanding between Contra Costa County Fire Protection
District and IAFF, Local 1230. The new language credits an employee with educational
points on the promotional exam score for possession of an AA/AS degree or a BA/BS

non-application of Subsection B of Section 17.5 - Educational Credits, for all promotional
