HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 08042009 - C.27RECOMMENDATION(S):
AUTHORIZE the Chair of the Board of Supervisors to sign a letter of support for the City
of Concord's application for grant funds from the Safe Routes to Transit program.
FISCAL IMPACT:
None.
BACKGROUND:
The City of Concord is proposing to construct Class III Bike Routes on David Avenue and
on Minert Road, between Oak Grove Road and Bancroft Road. The project would connect
to the County’s proposed Pleasant Hill BART/Contra Costa Centre Shortcut Path. The
Shortcut Path is designed to provide quicker, more direct and safer access to the BART
station for pedestrians and bicyclists. The County has already received a Safe Routes to
Transit Grant to fund project development work on the Shortcut Path project. The City of
Concord project would enhance the County's project and reinforce the regional significance
of both projects.
