ACCEPT the resignation of Mr. Bryan M. Balch, from Business Seat #22 of the Workforce
Development Board of Contra Costa County; DECLARE the seat vacant and DIRECT the
Clerk of the Board to post the vacancy.
FISCAL IMPACT:
No County costs. The costs of advertisement for new appointees will be funded through
Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funds.
BACKGROUND:
Mr. Balch resigned from Business Seat #22 of the Workforce Development Board of Contra
Costa County. Mr. Balch submitted his resignation in accordance with Section 117
(b)(2)(A)(i) of the federal Workforce Investment Act of 1998.
The Workforce Development Board (WDB) works with a broad range of business,
education, labor. public agencies, and community based organizations to recruit highly
qualified nominees for appointment to the WDB. All nominees will meet the strict criteria
set forth in the Workforce Development Act.
