HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07212009 - D.18-2RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Resolution No. 2009/366 to invite Elected Officials to waive salary in conjunction with employees participation in Agreed-Upon Temporary Absences (ATA). FISCAL IMPACT: The anticipated savings from the agreed-upon temporary absences will help to alleviate the fiscal impact of reductions in assessed valuation and related property taxes revenues. BACKGROUND: Contra Costa County has just completed collective bargaining negotiations with the Coalition labor organizations who represent a majority of County employees. As a part of these negotiations, represented employees agreed to take 48 hours of unpaid time off (furloughs) in the current and the next fiscal years. In the spirit of shared sacrifice, these agreed-upon temporary absences are being extended to elected officials by way of a salary waiver.
