HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07212009 - D.7RECOMMENDATION(S):
Adopt attached Resolution No. 2009/360 approving the Memorandum of Understanding
(MOU) (copy and summary of amended provisions attached), including Attachment D
(copy attached) pertaining to the Agreed Upon Temporary Absences (ATA)
Implementation, between Contra Costa County and Western Council of Engineers,
providing for wages, benefits and other terms and conditions of employment for the period
beginning October 1, 2008 through June 30, 2011, for those classifications represented by
that employee organization.
FISCAL IMPACT:
These recommended changes to the health plan result in significant reductions in the
County’s long term liabilities and will significantly add to the County’s overall fiscal
stability and ability to deliver services. Moreover, the anticipated savings from agreed upon
temporary absences will help to alleviate the current local fiscal impact caused by
reductions in assessed valuation and related decline in property taxes revenues.
BACKGROUND:
Beginning in October, 2008, Contra Costa County began labor negotiations
