HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07212009 - C.71RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute a contract with Bristow Academy, Inc., in an amount not to exceed $415,120 for helicopter services for the period July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. FISCAL IMPACT: $415,120. Budgeted. No General Fund impact. These expenditures are covered by a combination of agency user fees, annual SLESF (Supplemental Law Enforcement Services Fund) allocation, P-6 Central Administrative Base (Zone) revenue, and indirectly offset by State of California Department of Boating and Waterways grant funding. BACKGROUND: Bristow Academy, Inc., provides pilots, maintenance, and repair for the Sheriff's Office helicopter program. The helicopter program is an integral element of effective law enforcement operations providing enhanced patrol, surveillance, and search and rescue capabilities.
