APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Department Director,
or designee, to execute a contract with STAND! Against Domestic Violence, a non-profit
corporation, in a amount not to exceed $231,860 to provide domestic violence support
services to California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKs)
participants for the period July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$231,860: 65% CalWORKs Single Allocation (20% County; 40% State; 40% Federal); 35%
County costs as authorized by Zero Tolerance for Domestic Violence
BACKGROUND:
STAND! Against Domestic Violence was selected through the competitive bid process,
Request for Proposal (RFP) 1104. STAND! Against Domestic Violence provides a wide
array of domestic violence services, tailored to meet the specific needs of the Workforce
Services Bureau. Services include CalWORKs domestic violence liaisons at four
Employment and Human Services Department (EHSD) offices, technical assistance,
consultation, and domestic violence identification and skills training; on-site capacity
