HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07212009 - C.65RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director or his designee (Wendel Brunner, M.D.), to accept, on behalf of the County, Grant Award #28-746-2 from Anka Behavioral Health Services, to pay the County an amount not to exceed $111,692, to allow the County’s Homeless Program to continue providing interim housing services, technical planning, and evaluation services to homeless adults, including delivering integrated health, mental health, and substance abuse services to chronically homeless persons in the County’s HOPE Plus Project, for the period from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. FISCAL IMPACT: Approval of this grant award will result in an amount not to exceed $111,692 from Anka Behavioral Health Services through the Substance Abuse Mental Health Administration (SAMSHA) for the County’s Homeless Program, HOPE Plus Project. The HOPE Plus Project, along with the County’s Public Health AIDS Program, will significantly increase access to health and substance abuse treatment services by providing outreach and engagement services, an enhanced referral system, expanded intensive case management, and access to emergency shelter and permanent housing to homeless people suffering from co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. Approval of Grant Award #28-746-2 will allow County’s Homeless Program to provide continuation of services through June 30, 2009. Three sealed and certified copies of the Board should be returned to the Contracts and Grants Unit.
