APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee,
to accept an American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) grant in the amount of
$312,500 from the Federal Health and Human Services Department to help low income
individuals in the community obtain employment, higher wages or gain access to State and
Federal benefits.
FISCAL IMPACT:
American Recovery and Reinvestment Act grant
BACKGROUND:
The American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds, made available from the Federal
Health and Human Services Department, will be used in Contra Costa County to address
broad economic recovery issues which include helping low-income individuals secure
employment, earn higher wages, obtain better quality jobs, and gain access to State and
Federal benefits.
