HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 07072009 - C.45RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute a contract with the County of Los Angeles in an amount not to exceed $150,000 for the intrastate transportation of inmates for the period July 1, 2009, through June 30. 2014. FISCAL IMPACT: 100% County General Fund; Budgeted in fiscal year 2009/10. BACKGROUND: The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff is responsible for the transportation of Contra Costa County inmates held in custody outside of the County. These inmates are either arrested on warrants or have removal orders originating from Contra Costa County. The Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff has contracted with the County of Los Angeles for over 20 years to provide inmate transportation along established statewide transportation routes. The County of Los Angeles provides weekly scheduled pick-ups for male inmates throughout the State of California and is responsible for punctual delivery of inmates to the Contra Costa County Office of the Sheriff.
