Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner,
MD), to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #22–378–27
with Brighter Beginnings, a non-profit corporation, effective May 1, 2009, to amend
Contract #22–378–25 (as amended by Administrative Amendment Agreement
#22–378–26), to increase the payment limit by $48,663, from $583,917 to a new payment
limit of $632,580, with no change in the original term of July 1, 2008 through June 30,
2009.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by the State Department of Health Services, Maternal and
Child Health Branch, for the Black Infant Health Project. No County funds are required.
BACKGROUND:
On August 5, 2008, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #22–378–25 (as amended
by Administrative Amendment Agreement #22–378–26) with Brighter Beginnings for the
period from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009, for the provision of case management
