APPROVE Appropriation Adjustment No. 5109 transferring designated fleet accumulated
depreciation in the General Fund to the Fleet Internal Service Fund.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This action transfers $3,632,006 of designated fleet accumulated depreciation from the
General Fund to the Fleet Internal Service Fund.
BACKGROUND:
Beginning with fiscal year 2008/2009, the County implemented a Fleet Internal Service
Fund (ISF) for general fund fleet vehicles. The intent of the Fleet ISF is to centralize the
County's fleet to promote a stable source of funding, increase efficiency of procurement, and
facilitate regular scheduled replacement of County vehicles. A portion of the General Fund
fleet accumulated depreciation ($3,632,006) associated with these vehicles supplied the
initial capital to establish the ISF.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
The transfer of designated General Fund to the Fleet Internal Service Fund is necessary to
