HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06232009 - SD.15RECOMMENDATION(S): ADOPT Resolution 2009/319 amending Resolution 2008/167 to delay general salary increases for safety designated Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Management Employees. FISCAL IMPACT: The estimated cost savings is $62,000 over the two-year delay. BACKGROUND: On June 9, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Resolution number 2009/225 approving the two-year extension of the Memorandum of Understanding between Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and IAFF, Local 1230 and approved the two-year delay in receiving the negotiated wage increases from July 1, 2009 at 2.5% and January 1, 2010 at 2.5% to July 1, 2011 and January 1, 2012 respectively. In spite of reductions in staff and potential brown-outs of stations, The Contra Costa County Fire Protection District's fiscal situation continues to worsen as property tax revenues continue to decline. The classifications listed in Appendix A shall receive general wage increases as follows: July 1, 2011: 2.5% January 1, 2012: 2.5 % CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The salaries between the managment classifications and employees will not be maintained.
