HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06232009 - SD.15RECOMMENDATION(S):
ADOPT Resolution 2009/319 amending Resolution 2008/167 to delay general salary
increases for safety designated Contra Costa County Fire Protection District Management
Employees.
FISCAL IMPACT:
The estimated cost savings is $62,000 over the two-year delay.
BACKGROUND:
On June 9, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Resolution number 2009/225
approving the two-year extension of the Memorandum of Understanding between Contra
Costa County Fire Protection District and IAFF, Local 1230 and approved the two-year
delay in receiving the negotiated wage increases from July 1, 2009 at 2.5% and January 1,
2010 at 2.5% to July 1, 2011 and January 1, 2012 respectively.
In spite of reductions in staff and potential brown-outs of stations, The Contra Costa County
Fire Protection District's fiscal situation continues to worsen as property tax revenues
continue to decline.
