Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand,
LCSW), to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #74 185–9 with Windrix
Transcription, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $165,000 to provide medical
transcription services for the County’s Mental Health Outpatient Clinics, for the period
from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Mental Health Realignment.
BACKGROUND:
In July 2008, the County Administrator approved, and the Purchasing Services Manager
executed, Contract #74 185 7 (as amended by Amendment Agreement #74-185-8) with
Windrix Transcription, Inc. to provide expert medical transcription services necessary to
meet the Americans with Disabilities Act accommodations for County staff with disability.

psychiatrists and therapists working in

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Mental Health Outpatient Clinics. The Contractor also addressed the problem of illegibility
on the part of professionals for which Contra Costa Mental Health has been criticized in
State Department of Health Services, Medi-Cal audits. The term of this Contract was from
for the period from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009.
Approval of Contract #74 185 9 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services
through June 30, 2010.
