HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06232009 - C.60RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Agricultural Commissioner, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with the California Department of Food and Agriculture to increase the payment limit to the County by $81,607 to a new payment limit of $194,976 for increased regulatory work due to the expansion of the Light Brown Apple Moth infestation in Contra Costa County, for the period July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009. FISCAL IMPACT: Increased reimbursement of $81,607; no County match. BACKGROUND: When the original contract was signed west county and a small portion of central county was infested with the Light Brown Apple Moth. The infestation has expanded with central County now being generally infested and portions of east county are now lightly infested. The regulatory workload is required to allow certain businesses (plant nurseries, growers, and others involved with the movement of plant material) to continue to operate.
