HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06232009 - C.41RECOMMENDATION(S):
ADOPT Resolution No. 2009/316 to amend Resolution No. 2009/257, to reduce the number
of positions to be abolished, to restore hours to specificed positions, and to change the
lay-off effective dates of specified positions in the County Library, as recommended by the
County Administrator.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$370,468 in new revenue has been provided by the Cities of Antioch, Pleasant Hill, and San
Pablo to mitigate position reductions in the County Library.
BACKGROUND:
The County Library has continued to work with the Cities to discuss and explore Library
funding and hour reductions. Since Resolution No. 2009/257 was adopted, the city of
Antioch has allocated $140,000 for its library, the city of San Pablo has allocated an
additional $82,750 for its library, and the city of Pleasant Hill has allocated $147,718 for its
library. This funding results in the need for fewer position reductions and layoffs.
