HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06232009 - C.04RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute Amendment No. 3 to an existing On-Call Consulting Services Agreement with T.Y. Lin International effective June 23, 2009, to extend the completion date of the agreement through December 31, 2009, with no increase to the current payment limit of $100,000, in order to complete on-call structural engineering services on current or future projects, Countywide. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no change to the current agreement payment limit of $100,000 as part of this Board Order. There is no fiscal impact to the General Fund. BACKGROUND: The current on-call Consulting Services Agreement with T.Y. Lin International expires on July 31, 2009. The Public Works Department has worked with County Counsel to develop an updated Consulting Services Agreement and the standard on-call scope of service for future on-call agreements. This process has recently been completed. The Public Works Department is now beginning the solicitation process for new on-call consultants. Lin International (Various Project Funds) take three to six months to secure BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) new on-call consultants. In the meantime, the current on-call consultants need to be retained to assure the timely completion of current and future projects. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Negative action will result in the Public Works Department having reduced availability of structural engineering professional services, which may delay project completion and put funding in jeopardy for projects requiring structural engineering services.
