Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner,
MD), to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #25–046–9 with Shelter, Inc., of Contra
Costa County, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $106,151, to provide
support services for Contra Costa County Health, Housing and Integrated Services Network
(HHISN) clients, for the period from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by federal Substance Abuse/Mental Health Services Act
(SAMHSA).
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing support services
to County residents that are homeless and have a diagnosis of mental illness or a
dual-diagnosis of mental illness and substance abuse. On June 17, 2008, the Board of
Supervisors approved Contract #25–046–8 with Shelter, Inc., of Contra Costa County, for
the period from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009, for the provision of support services,
including housing
