Subject:Cancellation Agreement#24–238–44 and Contract #24–238–45 with Mental Health Consumer Concerns, Inc.
BACKGROUND:
This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population by providing a State-mandated
Patients’ Rights Advocacy Program, including general advocacy and training services,
Certification Review Hearing services, and Reise Capacity Hearing services.
On March 3, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24–238–43 with
Mental Health Consumer Concerns of Alameda County, Inc. (now known as Mental Health
Consumer Concerns, Inc.) for the period from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009, (which
included a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2009) for the provision of
a Patients’ Rights Program.
In consideration of Contractor’s agreement to continue providing services, both parties have
agreed to re-negotiate the Contract Payment Provisions and the term to reflect the intent of
the parties as part of the Mental Health Division budget reduction approved by the Board of
Supervisors on March 1, 2009. Therefore, in accordance with General Conditions Paragraph
5 (Termination), of the Contract, the Department and Contractor have agreed to a mutual
cancellation of this Contract. Approval of Cancellation Agreement #24–238–44 will
accomplish this termination.
Approval of Contract #24–238–45 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services,
through June 30, 2010.
