Subject:SALARY STEP ADJUSTMENT FOR SHERIFF'S CAPTAIN POSITION FOR DANVILLE
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
the Contra Costa County Salary Regulations section 4.4, Salary - On Promotion, this
employee was appointed to Step 4. This resulted in an overall compensation loss due to
the 15% Police Manager differential being discontinued in accordance with the
Memorandum of Understanding between Contra Costa County and the Deputy Sheriff's
Association (DSA). The recommended salary step adjustment will rectify the decrease in
compensation that resulted from elimination of the salary differential when the employee
was promoted to Captain.
