HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06162009 - C.03RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute Amendment No. 3 to an existing On-Call Consultant Services Agreement with Cal Engineering & Geology effective June 16, 2009, to extend the completion date of the agreement through December 31, 2009, with no increase to the current payment limit of $100,000, in order to complete on-call geotechnical services on current or future projects, Countywide. FISCAL IMPACT: There is no change to the current agreement payment limit of $100,000 as part of this Board Order. There is no fiscal impact to the General Fund. BACKGROUND: The current on-call CSA with Cal Engineering & Geology (SBE consultant) expires on June 20, 2009. The Public Works Department has worked with County Counsel to develop an updated Consulting Services Agreement (CSA) and the standard on-call scope of service for future on-call agreements. This process has just been completed. The Public Works Department is now beginning the solicitation process for new on-call consultants. In the meantime, we need to retain our current on-call consultants to assure the timely completion of current or future projects. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: Negative action will result in the Public Works Department having reduced availability of geotechnical engineering professional services, which may delay project completion and put funding in jeopardy for projects requiring geotechnical engineering services.
