HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06092009 - C.63RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Wendel Brunner, MD), to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract #22–970–2 with Center for Human Development, a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $153,641, to provide health education and outreach services for the period from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is 82% County funded and 18% by grants from Kaiser Permanente Community Grants and Los Medanos Health Care Board. BACKGROUND: This Contract meets the social needs of County’s population in that it provides culturally sensitive, community-oriented health outreach and education services to residents of Contra Costa County through the Promotora and African American Health Conductors Program, targeting both the Spanish-speaking population and African American population, as a part of the Department’s Reducing Health Disparities Initiative. Approval of Contract #22–970–2 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services through June 30, 2010.
