APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Public Works Director, or designee, to execute a contract
with Sycamore Environmental Consulting, Inc. in an amount not to exceed $100,000 to
provide “On-Call environmental assessment services, for the period May 1, 2009 through

FISCAL IMPACT:
There is no impact to the County General Fund. This project is funded by 48% Flood
Control & Water Conservation District, 48% Local Road, 4% Airport Project Funds.
BACKGROUND:
The “On-Call” contract is needed to assist Public Works Department staff with obtaining
environmental clearances and provide "on-call" environmental assessment for various
projects associated with Flood Control, Road, and Airport projects.

BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)

At the request of Sycamore Environmental Consultants, Inc., the Public Works
Department has modified the Indemnification Clause within the standard contract per the
review and approval of County Counsel.
CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION:
Without Board of Supervisors’ approval, various flood control, road, and airport projects
will not obtain environmental clearances, which may cause delays in their construction or
repair.
