ADOPT Resolution No. 2009/255 to approve and authorize the Employment and Human
Services Director, or designee, to execute a contract with the State of California,
Department of Aging (AP-0910-07), in an amount not to exceed $3,730,587 for Title III and
Title VII Programs of the Older Americans Act for the period of July 1, 2009 through June
30, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
Contra Costa County is to receive funding in an amount up to $3,730,587 from California
Department of Aging Agreement (AP-0910-07).
The minimum required County match is $127,419.
BACKGROUND:
The Employment and Human Services Department, Area Agency on Aging (AAA)
provides services to low income, older residents of Contra Costa County as defined in Title
III of the Older Americans Act (OAA). Services include, but are not limited to disease
prevention and health promotion, nutrition counseling and nutrition

risk screening services, mediation management, information through multipurpose senior
centers, congregate meals sites, home delivered meal programs, and meals and
informational services at other appropriate sites to low income older Contra Costa
County residents. Title IIIE of the OAA provides the Family Caregiver Support Program
services. Title VII of the OAA provides elder abuse prevention and ombudsman services.
