APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee,
to execute a contract amendment with the State of California Employment Development
Department Workforce Services Division, Workforce Investment Act, Master Subgrant
Agreement R970532, Modification No. 2, to increase the payment limit by $6,736,966 to a
new payment limit of $12,423,259 for American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funds.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$12,423,259: No County costs, 100% Federal Workforce Investment Act (WIA) funding,
(CFDA 17-259).
BACKGROUND:
The Workforce Investment Act (WIA) American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA)
funds for Economic Stimulus in Contra Costa County is awarded through modification #2 to
the PY 2008-2009 WIA Master Subgrant Agreement. This award includes $1,095,358 in
ARRA Adult funding; $2,719,629 in ARRA Dislocated Worker funding; $2,511,927 in
ARRA Youth funding and $410,052 in ARRA Rapid Response funding. Funds will be used
to support and enhance existing programs, create summer employment opportunities for
