HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06022009 - C.58RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Jeff Smith, M.D.), to execute, on behalf of the County, Contract Amendment Agreement #26-437-3 with Stericycle, Inc., a corporation, effective November 1, 2008, to amend Contract #26-437-2 to increase the total payment limit by $1,800 from $364,000 to a new total payment limit of $365,800, for additional services provided by Contractor, with no change in the original term of April 1, 2008 through March 31, 2011. FISCAL IMPACT: This contract is 100% funded in the Health Services Department Enterprise I Budget. BACKGROUND: (CONT'D) Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Center locations, for the period from April 1, 2008 through March 31, 2011. Stericycle Inc. is now the sole source of bio-hazardous waste removal services in Northern California and has provided service to the County for the past six (6) years under Contract. Due to an administrative oversight, the Juvenile site was not included in the master agreement for bio-hazardous waste removal management pick up services, at the time of negotiations. At the request of the County, the Contractor has provided services in good faith. In order to reflect the intent of the Department, the County and the Contractor has agreed to amend the contract, to include the services effective on November 1, 2008, while all other parts of the Contract remain the same. Approval of Amendment Agreement #26-437-3 will reflect the intent of the Department and allow the Contractor to provide bio-hazardous waste removal management services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers sites and Juvenile Hall site, through March 31, 2011.
