Subject:Amendment #26-437-3 with Stericycle, Inc.
BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Center locations, for the period from April 1, 2008
through March 31, 2011. Stericycle Inc. is now the sole source of bio-hazardous waste
removal services in Northern California and has provided service to the County for the past
six (6) years under Contract.
Due to an administrative oversight, the Juvenile site was not included in the master
agreement for bio-hazardous waste removal management pick up services, at the time of
negotiations. At the request of the County, the Contractor has provided services in good
faith. In order to reflect the intent of the Department, the County and the Contractor has
agreed to amend the contract, to include the services effective on November 1, 2008, while
all other parts of the Contract remain the same. Approval of Amendment Agreement
#26-437-3 will reflect the intent of the Department and allow the Contractor to provide
bio-hazardous waste removal management services at Contra Costa Regional Medical
Center and Contra Costa Health Centers sites and Juvenile Hall site, through March 31, 2011.
