HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 06022009 - C.43RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Purchasing Agent to execute a purchase order with Sirius Computer Solutions Inc., on behalf of the Department of Information Technology, in the amount of $109,524 to purchase a Network Application storage solution. FISCAL IMPACT: The cost of $109,524 is budgeted under FY 2008/2009 and charged back to user departments through Department of Information Technology WAN charges. BACKGROUND: Department of Information Technology (DOIT) currently uses a network application storage solution called, Network Attached Storage (NAS); model 740. This product is manufactured by Network Appliance Inc. The 740 is used as one of the core computer data file storage systems for the DOIT Server farms. The 740 has reached its “End of Service Life” and therefore, is not supported by the manufacture; Network Appliance Inc. This purchase of the Network Appliance FAS2050 will allow us to retire the 740 model from production and provide DOIT with a new, supported computer data file storage system.
