APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee,
to execute an agreement to accept funds from the California Department of Social Services
for the reimbursement of interim assistance payments to individuals for the purpose of
ensuring the availability of assistance to meet the basic needs of applicants for benefits
under Supplemental Security Income (SSI) program for the period of July 1, 2008 through
June 30, 2013.
FISCAL IMPACT:
County will be reimbursed by the California Department of Social Services for the Interim
Assistance payments to applicants for Social Security Income (SSI).
BACKGROUND:
This agreement requests authority to accept reimbusement of funds by the Social Security
Administration to the Interim Assistance (IA) agency, Contra Costa County (County), for
assistance furnished by County to individuals during the months their Supplemental
Security Income/State Supplementary Payment (SSI/SSP) applications are pending and
during months their SSI/SSP benefits have been suspended or terminated, if the individuals
