ATTESTED: June 2, 2009 David J. Twa, County Administrator and Clerk of the Board of Supervisors By: Katherine Sinclair, Deputy cc: IHSS Public Authority Staff, COUNTY ADMINISTRATOR C.20 To:Board of Supervisors From:INTERNAL OPERATIONS COMMITTEE Date:June 2, 2009 Contra Costa County Subject:APPOINTMENT TO THE IN-HOME SUPPORTIVE SERVICES PUBLIC AUTHORITY ADVISORY COMMITTEE BACKGROUND: The Board of Supervisors established the In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) Public Authority Advisory Committee in March 1998. In April 1999, the Board of Supervisors accepted and approved the IHSS Public Authority Implementation Team Findings and Recommendations, including recommendations regarding Advisory Committee membership criteria, which were later amended in March 2001. As amended, the Advisory Committee consists of 11 members: 4 Consumers aged 60 or older, 2 Consumers aged under 60, and one member from each Supervisorial District. Terms of appointment are four years. Ms. Cratty has turned 60 years of age and no longer qualifies for her current seat. The Internal Operations Committee recommends that she be reassigned to a Consumer 60 or Older seat and that her old seat be vacated to permit recruitment. Attached is an advisory memo from the IHSS Public Authority Executive Director, and a current roster for the Authority.
