APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute a contract with
Accountemps in an amount not to exceed $40,250 to provide temporary accounting services
for the period May 19 through December 31, 2009.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$40,250; 100% County General Fund, budgeted.
BACKGROUND:
The Office of the Sheriff is requesting to enter into a contract for temporary accounting
services with Accountemps for an extensive accounting project to calculate the existing fund
balance of all CSA P-6 zones within the County, and to assist with a backlog of work due to
staff vacancies in the Sheriff's Fiscal Division.
The Office of the Sheriff and the Public Works Department have worked with Accountemps
through County Counsel to develop standardized contract language for temporary,
accounting services. This has resulted in a modification of the standard form
indemnification language included in most service contracts entered into by the County of
