Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Jeff Smith, M.D.) to
issue a sixty (60) day advance written notice to Walid Massarweh, M.D., a self-employed
individual, to terminate Contract #76-501-2 for provision of neurology services at Contra
Costa Regional Medical Center and Contra Costa Health Centers, effective close of business
on July 20, 2009.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract was funded 100% by Enterprise I Funds.
BACKGROUND:
On December 9, 2008, the Board of Supervisors approved Contract #76-501-2 with Walid
Massarweh, M.D., for the period from January 1, 2009 through December 31, 2011, for the
provision of neurology medicine services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and
Contra Costa Health Centers.
Approval by the Board of Supervisors will allow the Health Services Department to issue a
sixty (60) day advance written
