HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05192009 - C.37RECOMMENDATION(S): Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Donna Wigand), to execute on behalf of the County, as follows: 1. Cancellation Agreement #24–213–45 with Desarrollo Familiar, Inc., a non-profit corporation, effective on the close of business on June 30, 2009; and 2. Contract #24–213–46 with Desarrollo Familiar, Inc., a non-profit corporation, in an amount not to exceed $258,462, to provide mental health services in West County for the period from July 1, 2009 through June 30, 2010. This Contract includes a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2010, in an amount not to exceed $129,231. FISCAL IMPACT: This Contract is funded 57% by Federal Medi-Cal and Substance Abuse/Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), and 43% by Mental Health Realignment. BACKGROUND: On January 27, 2009, the Board of Supervisors approved Novation Contract #24–213–44 with Desarrollo Familiar, Inc., for the period from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009 (with a six-month automatic extension through December 31, 2009), for the provision of mental health services in West County. In consideration of Contractor’s agreement to continue providing services, both parties have agreed to re-negotiate the Contract Payment Provisions and the term to reflect the intent of the parties as part of the Mental Health Division budget reduction approved by the Board of Supervisors on March 1, 2009. Therefore, in accordance with General Conditions Paragraph 5 (Termination), of the Contract of the Contract, the Department and Contractor have agreed to a mutual cancellation of this Contract. Approval of Cancellation Agreement #24–213–45 will accomplish this termination. Approval of Contract #24–213–46 will allow the Contractor to continue providing services, through June 30, 2010.
