HomeMy WebLinkAboutMINUTES - 05192009 - C.22RECOMMENDATION(S): APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to execute a contract amendment with the State of California Department of Boating and Waterways to increase the grant award by $12,000 to a new award of $96,000 for boating safety enforcement and abandoned vessel removal through December 31, 2009. (90% State, 10% County match; Budgeted) FISCAL IMPACT: County cost of $1,200; State grant requires a 10% match. Budgeted. BACKGROUND: On October 28, 2008 (Item C.56), the Board of Supervisors approved and authorized the Sheriff-Coroner, or designee, to apply for and accept this grant from the State. On March 17, 2009 (Item C.47) the Board authorized an amendment to this grant extending the grant term and increasing the grant award amount. The State of California Department of Boating and Waterways has provided funding to maintain the service level of the Marine Patrol Unit on the Delta Waterways.
