FISCAL IMPACT: The Temporary Permit will allow access to the communications site and vault at no cost to the County. BACKGROUND: The Temporary Permit will allow access to the City of Hercules' communications site and vault by the Department of Information Technology to install new radio communications equipment, antennas, and microwave dishes that are part of the East Bay Regional Communications System (EBRCS). An agreement for long term use of the communications site and vault will be negotiated separately with the City of Hercules. CONSEQUENCE OF NEGATIVE ACTION: The County will have to search for another suitable location for this EBRCS communications equipment at a considerable loss of time and additional expense.
