APPROVE and AUTHORIZE the Employment and Human Services Director, or designee,
to execute a contract with FamiliesFirst in an amount not to exceed $530,724 to provide
Family Preservation and Differential Response Program services for the period July 1, 2009
through June 30, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
$530,724: 26% Federal Promoting Safe and Stable Families (93.556); 74% State Family
Preservation (30% County: 70% State)
BACKGROUND:
FamiliesFirst, Inc. was selected from a competitive procurement, Request for Proposal
(RFP) #1076, to operate an Intensive Family Preservation Program designed to provide
intensive, individualized, in-home family preservation intervention with a potential for
individualized time limited aftercare to assist families who are at risk of entering the Child
Welfare System. This contract also has a Differential Response service component. Through
this contract, supportive and preventive services are provided to at risk families to ensure
that children are safe, and prevents,
