Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Patricia Tanquary) to
execute on behalf of the County, Contract #27–288–4 with Diablo Nephrology Medical
Group, Inc., a corporation, in an amount not to exceed $500,000, to provide professional
Nephrology services for the Contra Costa Health Plan for the period from May 1, 2009
through April 30, 2011.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Contra Costa Health Plan (Health Plan) member
premiums. Costs depend upon utilization.
BACKGROUND:
The Health Plan has an obligation to provide certain specialized professional health care
services for its members under the terms of their Individual and Group Health Plan
membership contracts with the County. In July 2008, the County Administrator approved
and the Purchasing Services Manager executed Contract #27–288–3 with Diablo
Nephrology Medical Group, Inc. for the period from May 1, 2008 through April 30, 2009,
to provide professional nephrology services. Approval of Contract #27–288–4 will allow the
