BACKGROUND: (CONT'D)
Community Services
The Supervisor concluded that the following projects totaling $4,000.00 should be funded as follows:
Saranap Community Garden - $2,000
In Fiscal Year 2006/2007 this non-profit group worked in conjunction with the Contra Costa Public Works
Department and East Bay MUD, to develop a landscaping plan for the beautification of the Olympic Boulevard
Pedestrian Path. This funding will be used to purchase mulch in order to maintain the new landscaping.
Port Costa Conservation Society - $2,000
This non-profit group recently purchased an historic schoolhouse which they are restoring. Once the restoration is
complete, the schoolhouse will be used as a community center in Port Costa. This funding will be used as a match
for state and federal grants in order to complete the restoration.
