Maxfield , Chief of the Contra Costa County Fire Protection District and Chairman of the 1984 Combined Charity Drive Campaign, appeared before the Board this day and presented a report dated November 26, 1984 , advising that the employees of Contra Costa County and the County Fire Protection Districts have donated or pledged a total of $133 ,049 for the 1984 Combined United Way/CHAD Charity Campaign , an amount reflecting an approxi- mate 15 percent increase over the 1983 charity drive results. Board members expressed appreciation to Chief Maxfield and his assistants for their efforts in achieving such praiseworthy results and to all the county employees for their generosity.
