Approve and authorize the Health Services Director, or his designee (Jeff Smith, M.D.) to
execute on behalf of the County, Contract #26-649 with Solano Orthopaedic Spine and Joint
(Specialty: Orthopedics), a Medical Corporation, in an amount not to exceed $220,000, to
provide professional orthopedic services at Contra Costa Regional Medical Center and
Contra Costa Health Centers, for the period from April 1, 2009 through March 31, 2010.
FISCAL IMPACT:
This Contract is funded 100% by Enterprise Fund I. Cost to the County depends upon
utilization. As appropriate, patients and/or third party payors will be billed for services.
BACKGROUND:
For a number of years the County has contracted with Medical, Dental and Mental Health
Specialists to provide specialized professional services that are not otherwise available in its
Hospital and Health Centers.
